You know that phrase: “Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it”? Well, I got my wish.
Since I started my little knitting business, Carol M Knits, about a year ago, I’ve been looking for places to sell my pieces. I opened an Etsy store and made a few sales there. I started looking into local craft fairs, too. But you never know where you will find success.
For the past ten years I’ve volunteered every week at Guide Dogs for the Blind. I’ve gotten to know some of the wonderful people who work there, including the manager of the gift shop. So I showed her a few of my designs to see if she would be interested in carrying any of them. She liked the holiday dog collars that I designed, and placed an order.
Now, I thought maybe she’d want fifteen or twenty, but she requested 90! NINETY! Nine Zero! OMG do I have my work cut out for me. Fortunately she doesn’t need them until mid-October so I have more than enough time. But you know what I’ll be knitting for the next couple of months.
